All the caffeine please

All the caffeine please

I am a caffeine  addict. Coffee, energy drinks, and soda are my best friends. I start my day with 3 cups of coffee minimum.  Around lunch I switch to soda and then around the 3 o’clock slump I start on energy drinks.

Recently however, I decided to cut down on soda and energy drinks and actually be nice to my body by giving it more water. This has resulted in headaches and being REALLY tired, I also have to pee all the time. I’m told there’s benefits to this whole drinking water thing but I’m not seeing it yet…

The only thing getting me through life right now is coffee. If anyone tries to tell me it’s bad for me and I should stop drinking it, i’m just going to stop being friends with that person. I don’t need that type of negativity in my life.

I don’t want to grow up

I don’t want to grow up

Adulting is overrated. I remember when I couldn’t wait to be old enough to live on my own. To have no rules and no mom telling me what to do. Now I am 31 with two kids and I would do anything to go back to living with my mom and having no responsibilities. I ask my mom every time I visit if I can move back in, of course she says no but she’ll take the kids. I don’t know why anyone wants to grow up. Paying bills, going to work, raising kids it’s a trap! Take me back to school, hanging out with my friends on the weekend without a care in the world. Back to when mom paid the bills and bought and cooked the food. My childhood wasn’t the greatest but this whole adult thing is stupid.

Because I got high

Because I got high

I smoke weed. No I am not stuck to my couch eating potato chips and playing video games. I am a mom, i have a career, I am for all intents and purposes a functioning  member of society, and I smoke weed. I grew up with an alcoholic mother, my father is also an alcoholic but I didn’t grow up with him and my step father is an alcoholic. My sister is now an alcoholic. I am not an alcoholic. I am very proud of this. Yes, I drink but not a lot and very rarely. I have to be at a party or out with friends. I have a very low tolerance and am no longer allowed to drink on school nights (per my boss lol). I also have anxiety and weed helps with this. There’s nothing like sitting down after a long day of work and kids and enjoying a nice toke.  It calms me down, helps me unwind and sleep. I only smoke at night after the kids go to bed. Occasionally if my kids are at sleep overs or I am not going to be around them I will smoke during the day.

Smoking weed works for me. And I really think it’s waaaay better than following in my parents footsteps.

I’m fine

I’m fine

Living with anxiety is: constantly feeling like people you know deep down love you don’t actually like you at all. feeling like you can’t do anything right and doubting everything. Being afraid to show who you really are for fear that you will be judged. Lying in bed at night not being able to sleep because your brain won’t turn off. Not being able to go to amusement parks with kids because just the though of crowds make your skin crawl, or get on roller coasters designed for kids because you have no control.

Anxiety creeped up on me. It’s not something I have had my whole life. I can’t even really pin point when it got so bad. I think I manage it well but then I take my kids to the park, or am riding shot gun and I have a freak out moment. I’ve never had a full blown panic attack. I get chest pains and I get really overwhelmed. According to my husband I also get really mean. It’s something i’m trying to deal with, but it’s a daily battle. Most of my anxious thoughts are self doubt and feeling inadequate. Thinking my friends just put up with me, that my husbands going to leave me, that i’m going to get fired from my job. It’s not a fun disease to deal with.

There’s really no point to this blog, no lesson. Just ramblings from a girl who suffers with anxiety and hasn’t found anything that really works to help. I am holding down hope for when medical marijuana becomes available. I have read great reviews on how it’s helped others. I use to smoke, now I feel like when I smoke it makes me paranoid, which makes me more anxious and I don’t like that feeling. Maybe with the medical grade that’s bred just for anxiety i’ll find some relief. Until then, I’ll be here, smiling but freaking out on the inside.

I hate sports

I hate sports

I am a NFL widow that used to work for Orlando Animal Control. Every football season I lose my husband. Glued to the T.V. or out with the boys to watch games. I don’t like sports, never have. Maybe it’s because I grew up without a dad. Maybe it’s because after years of cheer-leading I still don’t really understand the game. I think it’s just my natural reaction to rebel. My husband is obsessed with the game, therefore I naturally want to dislike it. Either way, from August – February my husbands world revolves around football, and not just his favorite team either. He is one of those guys who keeps up with the stats and who’s ahead in each conference or whatever it’s called.  His mood fluctuates with the scores, he yells at the TV, he argues with complete strangers over which team will make it to the play offs and why his team is better than theirs. It’s really annoying and I really wish it would stop.

The only issue is, at the end of football comes Basketball Season. I can’t win.

Keep Your Nuts in Your Pocket!

Keep Your Nuts in Your Pocket!

Buckeye trees are mainly found in the western half of the state and more scattered in the east half. The nuts produces can be eaten, but NEVER raw. They are poisonous if eaten right off the tree. They can however be removed from the shell and roasted. The heat removes the tannins in them that can not only make you sick, but also don’t taste very well. Native Americans used to use them to make porridge. If eating them is not your thing (which I don’t blame you) folk lore says that if you keep a buckeye nut in your pocket it gives you good luck.

Buckeyes It’s Not Just Football!

Buckeyes It’s Not Just Football!

When most people hear buckeyes they think of Ohio State and the awesome sports. However, when I hear of buckeyes all I think of is the amazingness of chocolate and peanut butter combined in all of its glory! This classic candy hails from the buckeye state and replicates a buckeye tree nut. It is most common to find in Ohio and its neighboring states. In my opinion if you haven’t heard of these or tasted its deliciousness you are seriously missing out! So next time you have an hour free try making these! They are super easy to make and something great to do with the kids! Trust me your taste buds will thank you!

Effective Stress Relief Tips

Effective Stress Relief Tips

Everybody who has ever held a project has, sooner or later, felt the pressure of work-related pressure. However, when work pressure becomes chronic, it can have a negative effect both on your physical and emotional wellbeing.

Follow the following steps to Lower Your stress and stress:

First, stop worrying because a negative impact can happen at any stage and can cause anxiety and lower your immune systems. You become restless once you’re worried. This can ease your anxiety and improve your concentration. You may also listen to some good music or dancing. This can build your self-esteem and lift your mood since you’re able to express your emotions without communicating .

Second, it is possible to take a nap. It can effectively reduce your stress, improve your mood and increase your alertness. If you are unable to sleep massage your temples to relax the other organs in the body and soothing the headache.

Third, never let negative people influence you. There’s nothing wrong with supporting a negative person but ensure that you separate your individuality and emotions from it. Never take it in a personal level. If their negativity is targeted at you, learn how to use reverse psychology.

Fourth, don’t get stressed about what you ought to be doing, feel great about what you have accomplished up to now. The reflection process can help improve your favorable self-concept and alleviate your anxiety!Tea, Hot, Cup, Drink, Cup Of Tea

Fifth, enjoy simplicity. Simple things bring you joy too so learn to acknowledge and notice life’s little pleasures like laughing with your kids and spending time with your family members and friends.

Sixth, learn to forgive. Although, this can be easier said than done, recall, everybody makes mistakes. We learn from our mistakes and past experiences. Begrudging others because you do not get what you want will only hurt you so begin forgiving yourself and other people.

Seventh, say no occasionally. Being a ‘yes’ man is not easy especially when your only real objective is to please different people. Attempting to say ‘no’ sometimes does not mean that you’re selfish or rude. It will help simplify your life and give you the valuable time you need to relax with yourself.

Eight, spend less. Having lots of things just increases stress and will not resolve negative feelings so the next time you are about to part with your hard-earned money, have a step back and ask, “am I a smart spender?” , ‘have I split my needs out of my needs?”

The stress which you’re experiencing right now is just temporary. It will just pass.
